Paper Bears

Dress up a your very own special bear with an array of unique clothes.

Use a file folder or cardstock for the bear.

The kids traced my bear template and I helped to cut it out.

Bring your bear to life.

Place your bear on top of paper to outline what type of outfit you want your bear to have. Don't forget to include tabs!

Bean Bag Toss

If you've got an old box or large piece of cardboard you can make a bean bag toss. Foamcore or plywood also works well, but you'll need more than just a pair of scissors if you're working with that. Zoe helped to create the designs on this board. We whipped this one up quick when she was only three. With more time I'm sure something really extraordinary could be created. Your options for design are practically limited. Sports themed, animal themed, space, etc. etc. The bean bags can be created using lentils, beans, or rice. They can easily be assembled with scrap fabric or remnants of old clothes or towels. Beans bags can be sewn with a machine, hand stitched, or even glued.

Simply put, dressing up is fun.

 

Recreate a Scene

I luuuurrrv this one. Oh! Sorry for the lengthy MIA. Life got very busy (and fun) and now I'm back to the usual days of delight and sunshine.

This project works really well for older children, but my five year old enjoyed it too. Choose a scene or photo from a magazine that can easily be manipulated. Zoe chose of photo of a dog with his feet in the air because she wanted it to look like he was holding something. I chose a photo of a couple looking out to sea. Cut out that picture. Glue it to paper. And draw whatever your beautiful brain can think up that fits into that scene. So. Much. Fun. I'm doing another tomorrow!

 

A Brief Hiatus
